New York, New York 提到紐約，很多人耳邊便響起法蘭克辛納屈(Frank Sinatra)所演唱的「紐約，紐約」。這首歌曲是1977年由麗莎明妮莉所主唱的同名電影主題曲。但是這首歌曲並沒有因此而走紅，一直到了1980年法蘭克辛納屈將這首曲子收錄到專輯「過去，現在，未來」中，才漸漸走紅。

2001年9月11日紐約受到恐怖攻擊，許多活動都暫停，包含所有的展覽，演唱會，運動賽事等等。9月21日美國職棒大聯盟恢復在紐約大都會主場比賽，這是恐攻之後第一個職業運動比賽，賽程到第7局，大會安排New York New York 的原唱者麗莎明妮莉到現場演唱為紐約市加油，讓全場觀眾為之動容。

其實這首歌曲早在1980年就被美國職棒大聯盟紐約洋基球場採用。只要洋基隊在主場的比賽打贏對手，球場就會放出法蘭克辛納屈所唱的New York New York，而比賽輸了就播送麗莎明妮莉的版本。這樣安排讓麗莎知道後很不高興。於是，洋基球場後來只放送法蘭克辛納屈所唱的New York New York。
