喜歡看卡通的人，大概都看過宮崎駿的卡通。宮崎駿除了細膩的刻畫劇中人物，場景常常是大家熟悉的家園，後院，不起眼的樹洞，或小土丘。觀眾往往被劇中帶著濃濃人文關懷的人物或景物所感動。而這也是為甚麼宮崎駿的卡通連大人也愛看。

雖然宮崎駿已經封筆，他所監製的電影仍然不斷流通著。以他2011年的作品「來自紅花坂」和1995年的「心之谷」，時代背景與主角的年齡都頗為相似，描寫青少年成長，由青澀蛻變到成熟。這兩部影片都將時光倒回二次大戰後1960年代，一個物資不充裕的歲月裡，單純的求學生活中，腳踏車、火車是我們曾經熟悉的交通工具。濃濃的懷舊，環保，捍衛古蹟與文化的內涵喚醒大眾的關心。

除了影像，清新的配樂與動聽的插曲也是宮崎駿卡通很吸引觀眾的要素。「心之谷」中每當Take me home, country roads 音樂響起便將四、五年級的觀眾帶回那不識愁滋味的時光。而「來自紅花坂」的插曲更是支支動聽，特別是老歌「Sukiyaki」讓人回味無窮，另一首告別夏日「Sayonara no natsu」更是像晨曦一般，不沾染一點塵土，輕輕地穿透觀眾的心情。
